The story describes Grinzing as an
independent “Wine Growing Region” until 1891, after which, Grinzing
was transformed into the 19th district of Vienna after being integegrated
as part of the city. |

Since the year 1114, Grinzing has
been a large village. The name Grinzing is from the name ”Grinco.”
Grinzing was destroyed and built up repeatedly by French and Turkish soldiers.
As a result of this constant reconstruction, Grinzing has acquired a quaint
charm about it. |
